Geared towards folks who want to learn how to successfully create a complete, personalized piece with little to no instructor assistance.

 

Make a Pot Experience

The Make a Pot Experience shows guests the process of making a small bowl or vase. Personalize the surface of your new favorite souvenir from height, to shape, to surface and even the final glaze color. For $40 per person (this includes the shipping cost, materials, and the class itself) a Fowler’s Instructor will assist in the process of wheel throwing. After the student has created their piece, the instructor will take shipping info and glaze color choice.

Maximum class size is four students, for parties larger than four contact Fowler’s Clay Works directly.

Pots Made In This Class: Small Bowl or Vase

Time Frame: 45 minutes to an hour for experience

Due to volume of pots & the firing processes involved students usually receive their finished pot/s via USPS in approximately twelve weeks from their class date.

Make a Mug Experience

 

Make a Mug Experience

Fowler's Clay Works offers hands on pottery lessons! Try your hand at the pottery wheel in a lesson from one of our Instructors. A class is $55 per person, this includes the shipping cost, materials, and the class itself. Maximum class size is four students, for parties larger than four contact Fowler’s Clay Works directly.

The students will begin by following along to an instructor lead lesson, then students will create their own pot with as much or as little instructor assistance wanted. Students will first be given a practice piece and then a final piece. At student’s request, the instructor will assist in shaping a handle to their piece. Personalize the surface of your new favorite souvenir from the height, to the shape, surface and even the final glaze color. The final product will be a unique and interesting piece that is microwave, dishwasher and oven safe.

Time Frame: Approximately 1-2 hours for The Make a Pot Experience.

Wheel Workshops 2018

The Clay Works Crew is now offering workshops! These workshops are for the advanced beginner, the hobbyist, or someone just looking to learn more about ceramics in general.

These workshops will be a two day course, each day consisting of a four hour class. 

 

Day One: Basics of the Wheel: terminology, centering, opening

Basics of Cylinders: centering, opening, height

Day Two: will cover handled basics (pulled and extruded) trimming

and assembly of thrown pieces.

We will then have a waxing and glazing demonstration.

*Fowler’s Clay Works will glaze the participants products due to pots can’t be produced and fired in 2 days

Tuition cost is $170.00 per student. Tuition includes lessons, clay, and shipping on complete pieces.

Classes will begin at 10 am. We will break for lunch at 12:00 pm and reconvene at 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm.

MAXIMUM NUMBER OF STUDENTS IS FOUR. Minimum number of students is four. If we do not meet the four person minimum we will contact the students directly to reschedule or cancel. 

You can bring your own tools (rib, pin tool, trim tool, ext.) for the workshop or we will have tools available to share among the group.
