Fowler’s Clay Works Is A Locally Owned & Operated Business
Here at Fowler’s we believe there is nothing more special than being able to take home a memory that will last a lifetime.
Fowler’s Clay Works is a family owned business going into its fifth season. Mike, his wife Cheryl and their daughter Ava, have been serving visitors to the Smoky Mountains since 2015. Mike Fowler began his ceramic journey in 1995, with Del and Barbra Seaman, owners of Artistic Hand in Oviedo, FL. Soon after, in 1998, Mike began his search for personal style under the wing of Richard and Alice Collinson at Palms Up Pottery. Eight years later Mike and his Family moved to the beautiful Gatlinburg, TN. Within the next years of his career, Mike refined his artistic technique as well as learned the art of historical southern pottery with Robert and Connie Alewine, at Alewine Pottery.
Mike Fowler tells his story through his pottery using slip trailing. His signature slip trail reminds Mike of his family and what he has worked so hard to attain. In order to reflect the beauty of the natural surrounding world, and the Smoky Mountains in particular, Mike mixed his own glazes. The beautiful functionality of pottery is what initially intrigued Mike Fowler. Fowler’s Clay Works focuses on bringing beauty of the Great Smokies in color, heritage and design to your home.
